A Parent’s prayer

A Parent’s prayer, Lord, I ask you to protect my children physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and in every way. Amen.

O God the Father of mankind, who gave these my children to me and entrusted them to my care to raise them up for you and to train them for everlasting life: support me with your divine grace, so that I may be able to perform this most sacred obligation and stewardship. Teach me both what to give and what to withhold; what to reprove and forbear; make me tender, but firm; considerate and watchful; and deliver me equally from the weakness of indulgence and unnecessary severity; and grant that I can be cautious, both by word and practice, to lead them in wisdom and true piety, so that at last I may, with them, be admitted to the unspeakable joys of our true home in heaven, in the company of the blessed Angels and Saints. Amen.

I dedicate my children to Thy protection, O Heavenly Lord. Be thou their God and Father; and by frailty or neglect supply mercifully whatever is missing in me. Strengthen them to overcome the world’s corruptions, whether internal or external; and deliver them from the enemy’s secret snares. Pour out Your love into their souls, and encourage and increase in them the gifts of Your Holy Spirit that they may grow every day in the love and truth of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so, faithfully serving you here, may come hereafter to rejoice in your presence. Anyway. Amen.
